Dr. Thomas Backeris proudly serves the communities of South Tampa, Valrico, and Land O’ Lakes with state-of-the-art oral maxillofacial surgery. He uses advanced training and the latest techniques to provide a refined degree of care to his Florida patients. Dr. Backeris is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with Advanced Oral Surgery of Tampa Bay, PA. He earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Duke University, followed by dental school at the University of Pittsburgh, and completed his residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. His trained extensively in anesthesia, dental implants, and complex bone grafting, facial trauma and reconstruction, orthogenetic surgery, pathology, and surgical dental extractions. Dr. Backeris is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and also maintains hospital privileges at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa.
